Personal and business account books kept by Beekman recording his income and expenditures. The first volume, 1837-1842 and 1859-1862, includes a recapitulation for the year 1840. It includes expenditures for home repairs, furniture, groceries, fuel, etc. Some of the receipts include awards for opening streets, sales of stock, loans, and rent. The second volume, 1847-1852, also records income and expenditures. Recurring items are political expenditures, usually marked as election contributions, market money paid to Dr. Milledoler, wages for domestics, church contributions, etc.
